Emergency Preparedness

July 26, 2017

The Senior Center of York will host a session on emergency preparedness on Wednesday, August 9, 1 p.m. A disaster can happen at any time, and can take many different forms.  Whether it is natural, technological, or a manmade disaster, every individual should take steps to prepare for any kind of emergency and put a plan in place.  Join staff of the Department of Fire and Life Safety as they discuss the county’s evacuation plan, various alert systems, general preparedness tips, and more. Reservations are required.

Participation is open to seniors age 55 or older and their spouses, regardless of age. The Senior Center is located in the Washington Square Shopping Center at 5314 George Washington Memorial Highway, and is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. To register, stop by the center or call 757-890-3444.
